Neighborhood Comes Together to Try to Find Lost Dog

Johnny has been outside for four days and the neighbors are seeking help in finding him.

In his young 10 months of life, Johnny has been through a lot. The white shih tzu was being fostered because he had been in a home with 40 other dogs. He was rescued and brought to Plainfield, where he was being fostered.

"He was transported and was being fostered and he got out and bolted, said Linda Herrick, a Plainfield resident who lives next door to the woman who was fostering Johnny. "He has been gone since Tuesday afternoon.

"He seems to be circling in certain areas."

The puppy has been spotted repeatedly in the area.

"Today he was spotted at 135th and Route 30, just by the railroad tracks," Herrick said. "Yesterday, he was seen near 133rd and Route 30 and in the morning he was spotted by Woodfarm Road, by Tap House Grill."

The dog just arrived in the Plainfield area recently and is not socialized.

"Because he was in this house with these dogs, he is not socialized with these people at all," Herrick said. "He will run so the best thing for people to do is call if they see him.

"We have about 15 people looking for him."

Johnny has collar on with tags and a blue harness with black trim.

If you see him, call Herrick at 815-546-9391.

"He really is a very sweet and intelligent dog and faster than the wind," Herrick said.
