Pet Killer in Plainfield?

Despite a flier posted near Plainfield Central HS, police said they have no reports of slain animals.

Last week, a reader alerted Patch to a flier warning residents to beware of a local pet killer.

The flier, posted on a telephone pole on James Street near Plainfield Central High School, warns pet owners to be alert, claiming that a pet cat was shot with a dart.

As of last week, Plainfield Sgt. Mike Fisher said police had no reports of any pets being injured or killed with a dart.

However, the flier, which does not list any names or contact information, urges animal lovers to be alert.

“On Tuesday, November 12, our family cat was shot in the neck with a dart originating from a rifle shot by someone in this area. KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR PETS, IT COULD BE LIFE AND DEATH!”
