Lost Dog Reunited with Foster Family

The pooch was rescued from a hoarder home in Kentucky and disappeared from his foster home last week.

After a week on the run, Johnny the shih tzu is home again.

The 10-month-old pooch disappeared the night of Aug. 6 in Plainfield, where he was being fostered after being rescued from a home with more than 40 other dogs.

Neighbors spread the word about the missing foster dog, who was spotted several times near the site of his disappearance near the railroad tracks on 143rd Street.

On Tuesday, the dog was spotted sitting outside of a home in Plainfield, according to Ralph Osuch, who shared a photo of Johnny after his return.

“Johnny has finally been found,” Osuch said in a message to Patch. “He’s very dirty and hungry. He’s being checked out by the vet right now … A person found him sitting outside their house and he was ready to go home.”

Osuch said Johnny was rescued from a hoarder house in Kentucky, where he lived with 45 other dogs.
