Nevin's Hosts Halloween 'Meat Head' Event in Plainfield

Got a strong stomach and a flair for adventure? Pair craft beers with animal head meat at the Oct. 26 event.

Nevin's Brewing Company in Plainfield, 12337 S. Route 59, will host a Halloween event that pairs craft beers with some meats you may not have considered before.


The "Meat Head" Halloween event is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at the brewery, and will feature Chicago-area craft breweries plus animal head meat.

Dubbed a "foodie and beer geek's dream come true" by the restaurant, the event charges chef Marcus Mooney and brewmaster Marc Wilson with the task of pairing face-meat inspired dishes with beers from Solemn OathLake EffectTwo Brothers, Slap ShotUrban Legend, Ten NinetyFleskTemperanceAle Syndicate, and Nevins’ Brewing Company among others.

Mooney's dishes will include spicy grouper cheeks, tongue tacos, braised beef cheeks, head cheese and fish head soup.

Cost is $60 per person and includes admission, food, beer tickets and a souvenir glass.
