Plainfield Fest to Welcome Former Blackhawk Denis Savard
Sunday will be a hockey-themed day at the July 19-21 fest.
Rumors that the Stanley Cup may make its way to Plainfield Fest are unfounded, according to Riverfront Foundation President Rob Epley, but you can definitely see some hockey stars.
Epley announced Monday that former Blackhawk Denis Savard will join Eddie Olczyk at the fest on Sunday, July 21. The fest kicks off Friday, July 19, and ends Sunday. Click for fest details.
Olczyk, a former 'Hawk and a Blackhawks analyst for WGN, will appear from noon to 2 p.m. in the beer tent, followed by Savard from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Both will sign autographs for $20 apiece (flat photos only; guests are asked not to bring items like pucks or sticks to be signed).
Photos of Olczyk and Savard will be available for purchase, Epley said.
The Blackhawks Ice Girls will also be at the event conducting a 50/50 raffle and raffling off Blackhawks memorabilia, all part of the themed "Sports Sunday" beer tent festivities.
